dubious Brothers

dubious Brothers began and ended far too soon. They were the Martin Peters of their generation. Ten years ahead of their time or a hundred years behind? Tangoes, Waltzes and Foxtrots were set to biting modern political lyrics to a backdrop of dancing surgeons, soldiers undertakers and airmen and a spinning HG Wells Time Machine.

dubious Brothers were, at various times Monty, Dave O'Brien, Steve Williams, Dave Bird, Dominic Matthews, Phil Andrews and Dewi Richards. They released two albums, two EPs and a single on vinyl before disappearing into the ether. All are now collectors' items but a best of CD and a loyal and beautiful fanbase kept the memory alive. So, 24 years after their last show they reunited at the Bush Hall in 2014 for what was supposed to be one last hoorah. Amongst a cavalcade of guest stars, dubious Brothers were Josh Davis, Dominic Luckman, Alan Penman, Des Burkinshaw, Jackie Carreira, Tom Dolan, Adam Daffurn, Jake Andrews, Richard Morton and Joe Mottram. However the show was so successful it spawned a DVD (Live at Bush Hall) and another final farewell show exactly a year later at Islington Town Hall.
